Great Western Hotel

The Great Western Hotel is the epitome of a true English hotel, in Devon. It's situated adjacent to Exeter St David's railway station and we pride ourselves on a warm welcome coupled with high standards and sensible pricing.

There is a separate popular bar area, also available to non residents, which serves a wide selection of lagers, beers, wines and spirits. We pride ourselves on the varied and ever changing choice of real ales for which we have received various accolades from the Campaign For Real Ale (camra) over the years.

Great Western Hotel

We are within walking distance of Exeter City Centre, the capital city of Devon, and the prestigious Exeter University. Also the secondary railway station, Central, is a mere ten minutes walk away and the coach and bus station a further five.

The famous Exeter cathedral is also in close proximity as is the historic Exeter Quay, which is a great tourist attraction too.

From just outside our hotel you can begin to explore Devon and Cornwall by various methods of transport. Besides Exeter St. Davids train station (Which incidentally has regular historic steam trains operating throughout the summer) there are taxi ranks and bus stops operating various routes.

We look forward to making your acquaintance soon.

We belive that our guests & regulars deserve something better. Our popular Loco Bar offers an awesome selection of beers, ciders, wines & spirits.

Having won the Exeter & District Pub Of The Year award from CAMRA twice in the past few years, you will not be disappointed with the wide selection of real ales on offer.

We can cater for both the business & leisure traveller equally well & offer special weekend rates for those who simply just want to get away for a relaxing break.
